There are very few cars out there that get you guaranteed instant attention. We are not talking about truly exotic machinery, but cars that are still relatively affordable. With our divorce rates, good babe-magnet/boy-magnet cars are in short supply. Well priced ones are even rarer.
The Mercedes-Benz SL always had a reputation for producing firm results in the dating game, if you know what I mean. The car is great looking with the top up or down and it’s a decent grand touring machine, if not really a sports car. All the different generations also aged very well, with even the somewhat weak designs form the seventies and eighties still looking good today. The SL’s were relatively reliable over the years as well.
The main problem with the hot drop-top from Mercedes-Benz has always been its price. The base SL starts at $132,000 and can reach $168,000 with the SL63 AMG.
Well, we have an answer for you. Our beautiful silver 2003 SL550 is in perfect condition, is accident free and only has 76,000 km on it. At $30,000 + HST it’s also a great bargain.
