6.2L V8 with 451 HP in the base car and 481 HP with the AMG Performance Package Plus. Need I say more? This is one of the best-kept secrets on the market. M-B is not marketing the car all that aggressively either. We enthusiasts tend to keep dirty secrets like this deep inside us, so I’m spilling the beans here a little for your benefit, should you develop a desire for one of the fastest and best priced sedans on the market.

This baby in the base form comes in at about 67 large before tax, which is an incredible deal for a big free revving V8 with so much power. You get the status and sophistication of a Mercedes-Benz, of course, but not too much - just enough to impress the people in the know and not enough to attract too much attention from the traffic gendarmes. This is “just” a C-Class sedan after all, you know.

This baby is relatively light at 1,720 kg, has room for five (four big guys in comfort), and will run with 911’s. You can also build it up to a track ready machine that will dance with Z06 Vette’s, like the white coupe sliding around the track in the pictures. The AMG Black Series Track Package will set you back $130,000, however.

The regular car with the Premium Package leases really well. Call me when you need one.
