After many years of heavy lobbying Ontario's Ministry of Transportation finally made the necessary changes to the Highway Traffic Act addressing the very impractical 4-way-stop signage. Starting April 1st, middle aged women driving SUV's and men over the age of 55 driving luxury sedans will no longer need to make a full stop at a stop sign and will enjoy the right of way at 4-way-stop intersections. The spokeswoman for Ministry of Transportation explained in a statement that the changes will free up police enforcement resources and will allow our cops to focus on other, more important traffic safety issues. Well, bravo MOT! Finally, our traffic laws address real safety issues.
